FCCB #238 - Give Thanks

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge at FCCB!

Challenge #238 Give Thanks
Thank You or Thanksgiving Card

This Weeks Sponsor

Here are the cards I'm sending out for Thanksgiving this year.  I found the images on the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge.

These cards came together pretty quickly.  I added my sentiment from an old My Pink Stamper set and twine from The Twinery.

I hope you'll join in the fun with us this week at FCCB and link up your Thanksgiving projects!  Remember, to qualify for the prize you must include at least one Cricut cut on your project - if it isn't obvious, be sure to tell us which one you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

I used this sketch to inspire a birthday card.  The candle image is on the Birthday Bash cartridge.

I plan to use this birthday card for a guy, so I kept it pretty simple and only added Stickles to the flames of the candles.

I hope this sketch inspires you and that you'll join in the fun with us this week!  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you use.  Thanks for stopping by!

The son of one of my sweetie's best friends recently celebrated his first birthday.  The theme of the party was Mickey Mouse, so I made this card for him.

The number 1 is from the Birthday Bash cartridge and the Mickey Mouse image is from Mickey and Friends.  I kept the card pretty simple since it's for a one-year old!

I hope you'll join in the fun with us this week and link up your Cricut projects at FCCB.  Remember, anything goes, so as long as your project has at least one Cricut cut, you qualify for the prize!  Thanks for stopping by!

Use the colors brown, orange, yellow, red

For my project, I created this fun fall card.

I found this leaf image on the Doodlecharms cartridge.  I cut the image in 3 different sizes, flipping one of them.  I embossed them with 3 different embossing folders then put them on the card base using pop dots.

A double twine bow and sentiment finish off my card.  Pretty simple, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

I hope you'll join in the fun with us this week at FCCB!  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

This week's Challenge:
Shape Up: Make a shaped card

I decided to make a fun birthday card this week. I found the shaped card and the cute hippo on the Birthday Bash cartridge.  The card shape came with the "celebrate" already layered on it - perfect!

It's hard to tell in my pictures, but I added Glossy Accents to the sentiment and glitter to the ice cream.

I hope you'll join in the fun with us this week and make a shaped card!  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it isn't obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Challenge

I used this sketch as inspiration for the last page in my wedding album.  I had to tell my husband, it's the last page physically in the album, not the last page I have to make - LOL!

I made a 6.5 x 6.5 inch envelope and instead of folding the top flap down like you would to seal an envelope, I tucked it inside.  This gave me a square pocket, where you can see a bit of the same paper I used for the background peeking through at the top.  Then I cut a smaller square of paper and adhered it to my envelope and added the bride and groom image from the Wedding cartridge.  This created a pocket where I put a DVD with the video from our wedding ceremony.  I found the font for my sentiment on the Something to Remember cartridge.  A pretty simple page, but I really like it!

I hope this sketch will inspire you to create something wonderful and that you'll join in the fun at FCCB this week!  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Tag you're It
Create a project that uses a tag

For my project, I created a birthday tag.  A number of family and friends have birthdays coming up, so I know this will come in handy on someone's gift!

I cut the tag and the shadow from Plantin Schoolbook, and the cupcake is from Birthday Bash.  I glittered the cherry, and it's hard to tell in the picture but I also put Glossy Accents on the sprinkles.  I stamped my sentiment on a hand cut banner and finished the tag off with some ribbon.

I hope you'll join in the fun with us this week at FCCB!  Remember, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

Create a project for kids

For my project, I created a card using the Twinkle Toes cartridge.  Some good friends of ours recently had their second baby girl.  When we go to meet their new baby we're going to take their older girl (recently promoted to Big Sister!) a little gift too.  This is the card I made for her.

I think the little ballerinas on this cartridge are so cute!  I hid the face cuts in Cricut Craft Room so I could use one of my Peachy Keen Stamps for her face.  A crinkle ribbon bow, topped off with a twine bow and button, and a few gems finish off the card.

We sure hope you'll join in the fun with us this week.  Please remember our rules for participating in the FCCB challenges:
  • You may add up to 3 unique projects that meet the challenge criteria
  • You must use at least 1 Cricut cut, after that anything goes, stamps, svg's, etc.

Also, if it's not obvious, be sure to let us know what cartridge you used!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Welcome Baby

I'm back!  I've had a bit going on lately and took a little break from crafting and blogging.  But, I've had some time lately and think I'm getting back in to the swing of things.  So here I am - hopefully a bit more frequently again!

Some good friends of my sweetie and mine just had their second baby - a little girl.  We're headed to see them soon so we can meet the newest addition to their family.  So of course I had to make a card for their precious little one!

Die Cuttin Divas is having a "Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!" challenge this week.  What perfect inspiration to pull out my Teddy Bear Parade cartridge!  I saw this sweet baby bear image and thought it would be great for a baby card.

Some fun pattern paper for the background, a little twine and a button and there you have it!  Thanks for stopping by to check out my creation!

For my project, I used the Birthday Bash cartridge to create a belated birthday card.  I thought the image of the bee holding the gift bag worked perfectly with my sentiment!

I decided to give my bee a little character and used a Peachy Keen face stamp instead of the regular face cut of the image.

I sent this card to my mom for her birthday.  She lives in Arizona and has a pool in her backyard and enjoys spending the hot afternoons soaking in her pool.  So when I saw this image I immediately thought of her, and hoped that she was able to spend some time relaxing in the pool on her birthday!

This image is from the Pack Your Bags cartridge.  I added a little gemstone to the flower on the girl's swimcap, and a crinkle ribbon and twine bow finish off the card.

I hope you will join in the fun at FCCB this week!  Remeber, to qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.  Thanks for stopping by!

I love eating ice cream in the summer.  Well, to be honest, I love eating ice cream any time of the year, but I especially love it during the summer!  So, when I saw this challenge, I set off on a mission to find a fun ice cream image, and found this ice cream sundae on the Summer Celebrations cartridge.

It's hard to tell in my pictures, but I added Glossy Accents to the cherry and the hot fudge.  A twine bow and button, and a Jaded Blossom sentiment finish off the card.

Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth of July!  Do you all have fun plans for today??  My sweetie and I are heading over to a friend's house this evening for some food and fun.  Well, as I was getting ready this morning, I realized I did not have a festive shirt to wear today.  Local craft store (thankfully open on the holiday!!) and Silhouette to the rescue!!

I ran to the store and picked up some heat transfer vinyl and a plain red tee shirt.  Then came back home and found the perfect image - this week's free image in the Silhouette store!  A little cutting, weeding and ironing later, and I had this:

My sweetie was off playing golf today and when I sent him a picture of my shirt, I immediately got a text back from him asking me to make one for him.  So, one more trip to the craft store for another red shirt!!  He wanted his just a little different though, and this is what we came up with:

I think we're ready for our Fourth of July celebrations!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a fabulous holiday weekend!
